How do I reconnect Vamo or sign in again?

When a Vamo connection stops working, sign in again, make a fresh setup line or create a new API key. What to click for each, and how to tidy up after.

Article summary

  • A tool connected to Vamo by sign-in needs to sign in again after about 90 days without use, or after someone removes it.
  • A tool connected with an API key needs a new key when the old key is revoked. A revoked key cannot be restored.
  • A setup line works once and for ten minutes. Click the line at Set up > Get started for a fresh one.
  • Set up > API keys lists your keys and signed-in tools, with when each was last used.
  • After reconnecting, remove the old key or tool you no longer use from Set up > API keys.

To reconnect Vamo, repeat the way you first connected. A signed-in tool signs in again. A tool set up with a setup line gets a fresh line. A tool using your own API key gets a new key. Your lists and searches are not affected.

When you need to reconnect

  • Your assistant says it is not connected to Vamo, or "unauthorized".
  • A tool that signed in has not been used for about 90 days.
  • Someone signed the tool out, or revoked its key, at Set up > API keys.
  • Your account changed plan, and the tool lost access.

If Vamo never connected at all, start with Vamo won't connect instead.

Check what you have first

  1. In the Vamo app, open Set up, then API keys.
  2. Look through the list. It shows your keys, agents set up with a setup line, and tools that signed in with a browser.

Each row shows when it was last used. A tool missing from the list has lost its connection.

Signed in with your browser

  1. In your AI tool, start the Vamo connection again. Most tools show a sign-in or reconnect button on a connector that has lost access.
  2. Your tool opens a Vamo page. Approve it.
  3. Check that the tool is back in the list at Set up > API keys.

If your tool shows no way to sign in again, remove Vamo from the tool and add it again. The current steps are under Pick your tool at Set up by hand.

Connected with a setup line

  1. Open Set up, then Get started.
  2. Click the line under the heading to copy a fresh setup line.
  3. Paste it into your agent within ten minutes.

The agent replaces its old key with a new one.

Connected with your own API key

  1. Open Set up, then API keys.
  2. Under Search keys, click Create search key.
  3. Name it after the tool and click Create key.
  4. Copy the key from the top of the list. It is only shown once.
  5. Put the new key where the tool reads it, in place of the old one.

Tidy up after

Remove what you no longer use. At Set up > API keys, open the menu on the old row. Choose Revoke… for a key or Sign out… for a signed-in tool, then confirm. Anything using it stops working right away, and a revoked key cannot be restored.

Still stuck

Let your assistant check its own connection and tell you what is wrong.

FAQs

Why do I have to sign in to Vamo again?

A tool that signed in to Vamo stays connected while it is used. After about 90 days without use, or if someone signed it out at Set up > API keys, the tool has to sign in again.

Can I get an old Vamo API key back?

No. A Vamo API key is shown once, and a revoked key cannot be restored. Create a new key at Set up > API keys and give it to the tool in place of the old one.

Does reconnecting Vamo lose my lists or searches?

No. Lists, searches and contacts belong to your Vamo account, not to the connection. Reconnecting only changes how the tool proves who it is.
