The quickest way to check that Vamo is connected is to ask the assistant itself. Paste the line below into your AI tool. The assistant tests its own connection and tells you in plain words what it found.

Hand this to your agent
Paste this line into your assistant. It reads Vamo's troubleshooting guide, runs the checks, and tells you what it found.
Read https://vamotalent.ai/skills/vamo-troubleshooting.md and check your connection to Vamo. Tell me in plain words what is wrong and what I should do.

When to use it

Use it right after you connect a tool for the first time. It confirms the setup worked before you rely on it.

Use it again when something that worked has stopped. Use it when an answer looks like it did not come from Vamo. The check is the same each time.

The line works in any AI tool that can open a web page. It does not matter how you connected.

What the assistant checks

The line points your assistant at the Vamo troubleshooting guide. The guide is a public page written for assistants. Your assistant reads it, then works out which way it is connected to Vamo.

It then runs three checks in order.

  1. It can reach Vamo. The assistant confirms that its messages get through to Vamo at all.
  2. It has access. The assistant confirms it holds a sign-in or an API key for your account.
  3. One small search works. The assistant runs a single small search and confirms that it gets a result.

The order matters. Each check depends on the one before it. The first check that fails is where the problem is.

The assistant does not print your API key. It asks you before it installs software or changes a setting.

How to read the answer

You will get one of three kinds of answer.

All three checks passed. Vamo is connected and ready. Go on to run your first search.

A check failed and you can fix it. The assistant names the check that failed and tells you what to do. Some steps only a person can take, so it may ask you to do one.

A check failed and the assistant cannot fix it. It tells you what to pass on to Vamo. Copy that into the "Tell us" link at the bottom of this page.

If the answer is vague, ask a follow-up question:

Which of the three checks failed, and what is the one thing I should do next?

One answer needs a different page. If your assistant says the account cannot run that right now, read what that message means.

Check from the Vamo app as well

You can confirm the same thing from your side. Open Set up > API keys. The page shows when each key was last used. It also lists the tools connected by sign-in, under Connected tools.

A tool connected with an API key appears as its key, not under Connected tools. The key row names the tool it was made for. To connect a tool that appears in neither place, open Set up > Get started and pick your tool.
