Claude Code is a different kind of product from Claude the chat assistant. It runs in a developer’s terminal, reads the whole project, and carries out coding tasks on its own: editing files, running tests, and proposing changes for review. Tools in this category are called coding agents. GitHub Copilot and Cursor’s agent mode are peers.
