GitHub Copilot
GitHub’s AI coding assistant. It suggests code inside an editor as a developer types, and it can also work as an agent.
What it tells you about a developer
Copilot on a resume shows a developer working with AI assistance in their editor, which is close to standard practice. Moving between Copilot, Cursor, and other assistants takes hours, so the tool name marks a preference.

GitHub Copilot was the first AI coding tool most developers met, launched in 2021 as autocomplete for whole lines and blocks. It has since grown a chat mode and an agent mode that makes changes across files. It plugs into an editor the developer already uses, such as VS Code, rather than replacing it.
