Issue
A tracked task, bug report, or feature request filed against a repository. Project discussion on GitHub happens here.
What it tells you about a developer
Issue activity shows how a developer communicates about problems. Reading a candidate's issue comments gives an unfiltered sample of how they explain, disagree, and help strangers.
Anyone can open an issue on a public repository. Maintainers sort them, contributors discuss them, and proposed changes reference them. Issue threads are public and permanent, so years of a developer's technical conversation stay readable.
